Bhanu did his Masters in Zoology from Delhi University in 1978 and took Forest Service Exam and got selected the same year. After 2 years of Training, took Civil Services 1980 Exam and got selected for IRTS.

Bhanu was Chairman & Managing Director of Konkan Railway Corporation and as at helm of affairs for more than 6 years. He was responsible for turning Konkan Railway into a Profit-making Organization. He received the “Turn Around Trophy” from BRPSE Chairman in the year 2012. He has received many accolades during his service and the most prestigious one being receiving the Rajbhasha Shield from Hon’ble President of India.

He always strives for continuous self-upgrading and learning. He completed his Executive MBA in 2009. He has been a motivator to his staff to upgrade their skills continuously. He started Computer Literacy and Konkan Rail Shiksha Abhiyan for the children and people of villages along the Konkan Route. Along with this Tourist Guide training to autorickshaw / taxi drivers, skill development to locals and many more. He took the initiative for establishment of George Fernandes Institute of Tunnel Technology at Goa and Ramakrishna Hegde Skill Development Centre at Udupi (Karnataka) during his tenure. 

Now after his retirement from Railways, he has started a new chapter and a passion which he long cherished to fulfill, that is of being a teacher, trainer and a mentor to young entrepreneurs and aspirants for Civil Services. He has always believed every individual has a great potential to bloom, if guided properly. He believes that learning will be fun if we are able to create interest in learner to learn.
